How we check prices
Every price has a source
Each figure links to the page on the provider's own website where we found it.
Dated, and re-checked
Every fact shows the date we checked it. Christmas trackers are re-checked weekly until mid-January 2027.
We never guess
If a provider doesn't publish a price or rule, we say "not published" rather than estimate.
Free to be listed
Free for every business; nobody pays to be listed or to change what we report. Published by Pet Humanization Empire.
Spotted a wrong or out-of-date price? Email us the page and the correct source and we'll fix it, usually within a few business days.

List your business free
Send us your prices and we'll add or correct your page, free. No fees, no sign-up, no payment.
What a free listing includes:
- Your prices on your region page, next to the other kennels or catteries in your area, and in your city's price comparison (always in price order).
- Your own provider page with your published prices and rules, each linked to its source with the date we checked it.
- A row on your city's Christmas 2026 tracker, if you board pets over Christmas and New Year.
Listing never changes the prices we report. We only publish prices from your own website or what you send us, with the date checked. Free for every business; nobody pays to be listed or to change what we report.

Questions pet owners ask
How much does dog boarding cost in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane?
Lowest published standard dog rates (per day or night): Melbourne $40–$67, median $51 across 11 kennels; Sydney $45–$142, median $64 across 9 kennels; Brisbane $40–$63, median $52 across 7 kennels. Peak and Christmas rates are usually higher and often come with minimum stays.
How much does cat boarding cost?
Lowest published standard cat rates (per day or night): Melbourne $23.50–$52, median $31.75 across 12 catteries; Sydney $30.50–$60, median $39 across 6 catteries; Brisbane $27.50–$41.50, median $32 across 7 catteries.
Are kennels booked out for Christmas 2026?
Some are. As of 26 Oct 2026, 5 of the 35 providers we track publish a full, partly booked or limited Christmas status. Most others don't publish availability at all, and "not published" does not mean a kennel has space, so call ahead before you book travel.
How long is the minimum stay over Christmas?
Melbourne: Published Christmas minimum stays run from 7 days (e.g. Pet Resorts Australia Port Melbourne) to 10 days (Hallam Park, Dogs Country Club, Sophisticat) and 14 days (Cottage Kennels, Sparrows In The Tree Top). Sydney: Published Christmas minimums run from 7 days (Pet Resorts Australia Dural and Ingleside, Barnstone) to 10 days (SmallPaws for 22 Dec–4 Jan) and 14 nights (Aragon Cattery for any dates 18 Dec 2026–4 Jan 2027). Brisbane: Pet Resorts Australia (Gumdale, Narangba, Samford) charges a 7-day minimum across Christmas and New Year; The Links Pet Centre in Goodna has a 10-day Christmas minimum.
What vaccinations do kennels and catteries require?
A current C5 vaccination for dogs and F3 for cats is the norm in all three cities. Several providers want it given at least 10–14 days before arrival, and Hanrob also requires an annual canine cough vaccination.
Where do your prices come from?
We copy every price from the provider's own website, link to the page it came from and show the date we checked it. If a provider doesn't publish something, we say "not published". We never estimate.
Do businesses pay to be listed or to change what you show?
No. Listing is free for every business; nobody pays to be listed or to change what we report. We only publish prices from a business's own website or what it sends us, with the date checked, and price tables stay in price order.
